Wednesday 6 August - Drove to Helsingør to catch a very short ferry ride to Helsingborg in Sweden. Drove via Jönköping to Stockholm.

Thursday 7 August - A sightseeing day in Stockholm, visiting the Town Hall, the Vasa Museum, and Skansen Park. Barbeque and sangria party later. Messy.

Saturday 9 August - Drove from Stockholm to Oslo. Late arrival, into town after dinner. Awesomely expensive beer (31 krone = £3 when back in UK is 85p!!!).

Tents galore.

Sunday 10 August - A sightseeing day, visiting Frognan Park, the Viking Museum, Thor Heyerdhal's ships, the Armed Forces Museum, and Holmenkollen Ski Jump.

Monday 11 August - An early start for drive to Geiranger. It was a very scenic drive as we passed Lillehammer and Otta before turning off the motorway. The road into Geiranger is a series of hairpin turns as it winds down the mountain sides towards the sea. It is a small place with a camp site, ferry port and a few houses. There were two Russian cruise ships anchored in the fjord.

Tuesday 12 August - An early start for the ferry from Geiranger to Hellesylt, a short drive and then another ferry to Liabygda. From there we drove up and over the Trollstigen (The Troll Ladder) to Åndalsnes. We had an afternoon hike to top of Mt Rauma. A barbecue for dinner and we had nice warm cabins instead of cold tents :-)

Wednesday 13 August - Drove from Åndalsnes to Hell via Trondheim. I even have a tourist stamp in passport to prove it! After dinner we invaded the sauna, very nice indeed.

May this be closest I ever get to Hell.

Thursday 14 August - We carried on driving north and arrived at Mo i Rana, 70km from the Arctic Circle late afternoon. Softball and euchre after dinner.

Friday 15 August - A sleep in as we stayed in Mo i Rana visiting the Svartisen Glacier. This involved a bus ride, a ferry ride, and a long walk over a moon scape. A beautiful sunny day highlighted the glacier and we were able to wander underneath it for a short while to get some good photos. More softball and another good dinner.

Sunday 17 August - Drove to Storsteinnes. This is a very picturesque camp site. After cricket, BBQ, and a sangria party we ran our own disco at the camp.

Monday 18 August - Long drive to Hammerfest with a stop in Alta for changing money and coffee.

Tuesday 19 August - Free day. Sightseeing in town, but not a lot to see. Fish for dinner.

I really like these blogs going back in time, summing it all up. And also to see the clothes people are wearing, the cars and so on.
