Monday 28 March - An early start from our bush camp in order to get to Aleppo via Krak de Chevaliers. This is the fairy tale medieval castle with its sweeping views of the area, well preserved walls and features and all round sense of history.

We had a superb lunch in the restaurant next to the castle and then drove onto Aleppo where we stayed in a small nondescript hotel in the centre of the city.
