Friday 26 March

A pleasant drive via the Motueka River Road to Tapawera and Kohatu, arriving in Nelson mid afternoon. A walk around the shops and then out to Miyaza Japanese Gardens. They are pleasant but a bit too noisy as they are right next to main road out of the city.

Tucked away in a corner of the garden and over a bridge is a small Chinese Pavilion.

An excellent Indian for dinner.

Saturday 27 March

We found the Saturday market in the city and purchased some very good locally made mustard and sweet chilli sauce. From there, we went out to Founders' Park which contains a lot of historical buildings, businesses and transport.

Sunday 28 March

Flew home to Auckland.
In all, a very scenic trip away for a week or so.
