Once the trip around Central America was finished I went to Mexico City for a few days. Stayed very near the main square (the Zocalo).
These four days were spent wandering around the main city centre, especially the Zocalo and to the Coyoacán district. The Coyoacán district is a very picturesque area with lots of old houses and churches.
Santa Veracruz.
The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary of Mexico City in the Zocalo. The Metropolitan Tabernacle is to the right.
The Jardin de la Triple Alizanza, tucked away in little side street off the Zocalo.
The flag pole in the centre of the Zocalo.
The Edif de la Inquisicion, (now the Museo de la Medicina Mexicana).
The Museo Nacional De Arte (with King Charles IV on his horse).
The fountains in the Jardin Centenario, Coyoacán.
The Church of San Juan Bautista, Coyoacán.
The Palacio de Belles Artes.
An interesting sculpture.
