This was a fill in trip as I had about a month before I could start my new job due to building works at the company's new office. So I decided to head off somewhere and I ended up in Malta.
I stayed in the town of Qawra (pronounced Owra) which is about 17 kilometres from Valletta. At that time there was not much there, but has been developed considerably since.
Maltese wildlife as viewed from my hotel in Qawra.
The best way of getting around the islands is by bus so most of my stay there was day trips out to a certain town or area, wander around and catch the bus home.

Gozo. I took a day trip over to Gozo. It is very small, small enough to walk from the ferry port up the hill to the town of Victoria, a distance of about 7 km.

Churches. The villages may be tiny, but the parish church is normally huge. Most are built with a dome incorporated in its design, but not all.
