As part of a longer trip to Asia, I had five days in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.

I had five days in Chiang Mai and had a good look around, especially a trip up to Doi Suthep. My hotel was right in the night market, a great area for shopping and food.

I caught the day train all the way back to Bangkok. The first couple of hours are quite scenic through the mountains, whereas the rest of the trip was rather boring, just rice paddies and villages. Not much to see at all.
