A few days up in the beautiful Bay of Islands.

Saturday 27 December to Tuesday 30 December

This was another camping trip, this time up north to the Bay of Islands. I stayed at the Haruru Falls Motor Camp and had a great view of the falls.

The next day I did a boat trip around the bay. The R Tucker Thompson is a relatively modern ship (built in the 70s) and spends it days cruising around the Bay, stopping at a couple of islands. The trip starts in Russell, which for a short while was the capital of New Zealand.

One for you, one for me, one for you.

In all, a nice relaxing day.

From there I went to Kerikeri. This is a historical town a few kilometres from the bay. The last time I had been up here was many years ago when there was a bridge across the river in front of the Stone Store. The bridge was damaged in a storm and was removed completely, leaving a picturesque park. The Stone Store is the oldest stone building in New Zealand and was constructed between 1832 and 1836.
